Summer Hours

You may drop your sewing machine, serger or industrial machine head off at the Cottage Door Consignment Shop in Weaverville, N.C. We are open from 10AM to 6 PM Monday thru Friday, Saturday 10 AM to 4PM.  

I will pick up machines two days a week Monday and Thursday starting April 16, 2021. 

I will return phone calls Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week while I'm in my shop.

  I will be unavailable Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Mondays until August 21st 2021.  

You can call and leave a message and I will return calls Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursdays.

Your machines will continue to be serviced within a week if possible.


Estimates for Service are as follows;

  • Sewing machine regular service: $130.00 which is 2 hours labor and includes complete cleaning inside machine, checking the motor, electrical, foot control, and all related items.  Cleaning of the upper tension disc and cleaning the hook area, relubrication of all metal parts. Check timing and tension both upper and lower. I will test sew and you will have a sample showing the quality of the stitches.
  • Serger and overlock machines are a flat $145.00, which includes cleaning and checking the electrical, motor, foot control, timing and control settings, lubricate & clean the upper tension discs,  threading and test sewing.
  • Industrial machine are charged a trip charge unless you bring in the machine head, I charge $150.00 per hour on site.
  • If I find issues inside your domestic sewing machine  or serger / overlock machine that we need to discuss prior to doing the work I will call you with information for you to decide what you want me to do.  If you choose not to repair the machine or parts are no longer available the $65.00 diagnostics fee will apply per your claim ticket.
  • When dropping off your machine these items must be included: Needle, thread, bobbin, bobbin case open toe foot, electrical cord, foot control & manual.  If you do not have a manual I will provide one at cost, I want you to know how to maintain your machine once it has left my shop. 
  • At the time of drop off please list any issues you are having with the machine so I can address them during the service.
  • When your machine is ready for pick up I will call and leave a message or email you, a detailed  work sheet will be attached to your claim ticket.
